Olivia Baseman is an actor, singer, writer makeup artist and producer based in Brooklyn New York. She works in theater, film, Television music, and fashion.
Olivia grew up in Pittsburgh PA where she started working professionally as a singer and actress as a young teenager. She went on to study drama and voice at The Circle In The Square School in New York City.
In 2002, Olivia met and began a collaboration with her now husband, fashion and celebrity portrait photographer Mark Veltman. Olivia started working as Mark's makeup artist and producer, clients loved the combination and Mark and Olivia have worked together ever since. In 2008 Mark and Olivia co-founded the critically acclaimed independent art/culture/fashion magazine Joy Quarterly for which Olivia wrote, and served as managing editor.
Olivia has continued to work as a performer appearing in diverse projects including the iconic "Rick James" episode of the Comedy Central
Series Chappelle's Show and director Darren Aronofsky’s Oscar-nominated film The Wrestler.
On stage, Olivia has appeared in many plays and musicals in New York as well as regionally. She is a member of the award-winning experimental theater company Gemini CollisionWorks, a frequent performer at Brooklyn's acclaimed experimental theater The Brick and an associate producer with the theater company The Dirty Blondes
Olivia was last seen on stage in New York in ReFuse with Gemini CollisionWorks and in the action film Crossbreed with Viveka A Fox (as the first African-American woman to portray the U.S. President in cinema) and Vernon Wells (Mad Max).
